I need a zoom P&S. Up until now whenever I did not want to carry around my Nikon equipment, I (or my wife) have used our Yashica T4 super.
As much as we like the T4, it is clear we need a zoom. I want to get the best P&S out there for $300 or less (new or used). I'm mainly interested in optical quality, but other considerations such as ease of use, build quality, flash, etc are worth talking about too.
Among others, I have read about the following:
Leica C1; Leica Z2X; Nikon Lite Touch; Minolta Freedom Zoom Explorer; Olympus Stylus; Rollie Prego; Samsung
and I guess a few others. However, the amount of conflicting material around about these and others is staggering.
I could sure use some help. My main concern is optics but I would also like to hear people's views on other features of worthwhile P&Ss to consider. I am not limiting myself to those I listed, those just happen to be a few that have caught my attention.
