Advice Sought: Monopod for Mini-DV Camcorder

Any suggestions on an appropriate monopod for use with my new Sony DCR TRV-27 camcorder? Would like to spend no more than $50. Would appreciate feedback on any of the following: Velbon UP-4DX II, Vanguard MP-15, Bogen (3249 or "4-section lightweight"), Slik EZ Pod Quick Adjusting, Quantary QT-II.
