IMAGING AND PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY ELECTRONIC WORKSHEET

You can use this electronic worksheet to keep track of your progress through the Imaging and Photographic Technology program. REQUIRED credit is what courses are worth at the time you take them. EARNED credit is the same as Required Credit if you pass the course. In case of substitutions there may be a difference between the two. GRADE is the grade you receive, including a T for Transfer where applicable. COMMENTS relate to special circumstances or reminders related to a specific course. Feel free to share this with advisor

To view the program description click on Imaging and Photographic Technology to go to the program's main page.

The space below is for students who take the SUMMER TRANSFER PROGRAM. If you completed this program then this box replaces Photo 1 and M&P listed under "regular" list If this applies to you, edit this file to replace/delete areas as appropriate.

* suggest Calculus 1016 251 and 252 if student's background allows but student
will incurr a credit hour overload for which he/she is financially
responsible. These courses along with 1016 253 would be particularly useful
for application to science grad school.
In addition, students may elect to substitute Calculus for Technologists for
the Intro to Calculus courses but similarly would be overloading on credits
and would be financially responsible for the additional credit hour caused
by this choice. NOTE: 2 Calculus courses are required at RIT. Students
transfering in from a semester based school must demonstrate that they took
integral and differential calculus in order to receive transfer credit for
   the calculus requirement.
> Freshman students may elect to enroll in a preparatory math class during
   the first quarter.
@ Freshman students may schedule an additional Liberal Arts course in the Fall
quarter of the first year if they feel capable of handling it. This would
give students the option of substituting an elective for a Liberal Arts
course in the second year of the program or to have a reduced load.
# Although the Department recommends that IPT students take the C++ courses
as listed above, students may elect to take one or two programming in Visual
Basic courses instead (TWO programming courses or 8 crs. are required).

* suggest University Physics sequence if Calculus courses were successfully
completed.(Particularly useful for application to science graduate school)
Once a student completes College Physics, University Physics can not be
applied to the program requirements in the future even as an elective.

* If Liberal Arts accepts Technical Writing as a Liberal Arts course then you
may substitute a FREE elective for Tech Writing's listing in the program.
This means you can take Tech Writing as either part of your "professional"
course or, with LA's permission, as a LA course. You could also take two 2
credit hour courses in Tech Writing offered by the School of Printing
Management and Sciences or a Tech Writing course offered by CCE evenings.

course credit hour combinations. Consult Concentration Guidelines file for
guidance related to Concentrations or consult with your advisor.
